Black History Month: Honoring Dr. Maya Angelou
Dr. Maya Angelou is an acclaimed poet, historian, author, actress, playwright, civil rights activist, director, and producer.
She has written ten best-selling books, which have earned her Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award nominations.
Maya Angelou is an inspiring voice to not only Black America but America as well and is the epitome of my tagline, SOUL. STRENGTH. STYLE. She is best known for her relevant poems such as Still I Rise, I Know why the Caged Bird Sings, and my favorite, Phenomenal Woman.

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.

It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
