Black Models on the Runway

While there is definitely room for more diversification on the runway, there are designers who use models of color to promote their brand; So to them, a thank you is in order. But to truly get some of the other designers' attention is to hit them where they will notice it: their bottom line!!

Joan Smalls: New Face of Estee Lauder

Modeling since 2007, Joan Smalls has sashayed down the runway for Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Prada, among others; and now she has been named the new face of Estee Lauder!

"Joan's smile, warmth and positive energy are perfect for the Estée Lauder brand," Aerin Lauder, senior vice president and creative director at Estée Lauder. "She is a great addition to our global faces.

Tom Ford Private Fashion Show 2011

Tom Ford debuted his new fashion collection, after a 6 year hiatus from Gucci; with industry heavy hitters such as Beyonce, Joan Smalls and Liya Kebede to name a few.  The vibe of the show was pure energy with an intimate setting. The collection channels the 1970's with gorgeous suits and fabulous dresses. Welcome back, Tom!!
