Visions
I've read in numerous self-help books such as The Science of Success and Infinite Possibilities; that it is beneficial to make a visionboard of your goals, dream destinations, affirmations, etc.....to give you a constant visual of things that you are passionate about.
Here's a peek at my visionboard. Please share what's on your board.

New York Fashion Week: Tracy Reese Fall 2011
Photo credit: Style.com Whimsical, fun and flirty are but a few adjectives I use to describe Tracy Reese' Fall collection. Color and more color graces the runway in 70's bohemian dresses and accessories. |

New York Fashion Week: Donna Karan Fall 2011
Joan Smalls Photo credit: Style.com Donna Karan's Fall 2011 collection had a ladylike aesthetic with designs reminiscent of Grace Kelly with hair swept up in french chignons and pearls. I call this romantic chic, with fur accents and cinched waists. Love it!! |

Black History Month: Honoring Dr. Maya Angelou
Dr. Maya Angelou is an acclaimed poet, historian, author, actress, playwright, civil rights activist, director, and producer.
She has written ten best-selling books, which have earned her Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award nominations.
Maya Angelou is an inspiring voice to not only Black America but America as well and is the epitome of my tagline, SOUL. STRENGTH. STYLE. She is best known for her relevant poems such as Still I Rise, I Know why the Caged Bird Sings, and my favorite, Phenomenal Woman.
Phenomenal Woman
Dr. Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.

Essence March 2011: Angela Bassett
Angela Bassett looks stunning as she graces the cover of Essence. She is such a natural beauty, and I love her pixie cut which plays up her gorgeous features. In her own words, she expresses what makes us so resilient:
“...When I look at a role, I will deliberately find the joy, the sensitivity, the strength, the vulnerability, the resilience. Because that's what I appreciate about women and Black women, in particular. That's what I want to celebrate—our resilience and our strength..."
